The problem is Democrats largely want ALL illegals protected including rapists, murderers, serial theives that steal cars etc.
Republicans such as Trump want ALL illegals deported in general which creates much conflict.

How about just deporting the serious felons only. Perhaps have an amnesty that bans all illegals from being citizens for life. Resident and work permit, but if you commit a serious crime you would be tossed out.

Also we should get rid of birthright citizenship. That would largely solve the issue as well. Nations such as the United Kingdom changed their rules in the early 1980s, we could do the same as well.

they do deport serious felons. they just come back in.
they had an amnesty in the past and not many participated in it.
these people do not want to be citizens in the usa. they want to take advantage of it and not contribute.

i think there should be a better path to citizenship, but we have a better path than all the other countries. it's not that difficult to be a resident alien as well. i know a few of those.

Also we should get rid of birthright citizenship. That would largely

i dont think it would solve any issue. people have kids when they arent from the usa and that causes problems.

What these people need to do is learn to speak the language, act lawfully and have a path to citizenship. they should be forced to take it or leave. perhaps they can have financial assistance and other support to have them focused on reaching that goal. if they cant meet the requirements, send them home.

I think democrats want due process with constitutional protections.

How about just deporting the serious felons only. Perhaps have an amnesty that bans all illegals from being citizens for life. Resident and work permit, but if you commit a serious crime you would be tossed out.

If you're *convicted* of a crime, I agree. I don't think any country would allow a felon to remain.

Hint: we also need immigration reform so that people can come to this country, work, contribute taxes as they already do, and punish employers who exploit the system. But, see my earlier message about campaign finance reform.
